Dear friends,

This has been a year of wonderful firsts.  Actually, the year has flown by.  We just celebrated Viola’s first birthday, and we don’t know where the time has gone.

Viola is on the brink of walking; she can stand by herself, and has taken two steps on her own.  She has been honing her fine motor skills though.  She is great at plucking the hair from my hair brush one strand at a time – it’s great for two reasons: it occupies her for awhile and the hair brush gets cleaned!  Although she doesn’t talk yet, Viola is great at communicating.  She often tells us where to go by pointing, or what she wants by pointing and making sounds.  She is definitely assertive.

January will bring a new year, and it will take me back to school as well. I am looking forward to teaching my little Kindergarteners again, but I am dreading leaving my baby at home.  I don’t want to miss all the firsts of the second year.  We are truly blessed though.  Viola’s both grandmothers will share the duty of watching her during the day.

May God bestow many blessings upon you and your family!

Love,

Lili, Bandi and Viola
